Mashable: Apple is expected to surpass the $100 billion milestone in services revenue by 2025.

Apple is expected to surpass the $100 billion milestone in services revenue by 2025, constituting a quarter of its total revenue, despite potential legal and regulatory challenges, a new report claimed.

Despite potential legal and regulatory risks, Counterpoint Research predicts that Apple will also reach the $400 billion revenue milestone in 2024, driven by the growth of its hardware and services divisions.

While antitrust lawsuits in the US and EU pose risks, analysts believe that any impact on iPhone monetization will be minimal in the medium term. Apple's expanding installed base, currently exceeding two billion devices, has had a positive impact on the growth of its services business.

Research Director Jeff Fieldhack commented on the recent legal and regulatory issues faced by Apple in the US and EU. He acknowledged the existence of risk but emphasized that it is still in the early stages. Therefore, he does not anticipate any immediate impact on the monetization of the iPhone installed base, at least not in the medium term.

Regarding Apple's previous silence on its AI strategy, Fieldhack noted that this has now changed with a significant hint dropped on Tuesday regarding the announcement for June 10 WWDC. He expressed that he wouldn't be surprised if something special is revealed, as that aligns with Apple's modus operandi.

The report highlights the significant contributions of Apple Store, Apple Care+, Apple Music, and the Apple One subscription, which have driven the company's success. AppleOne, launched in 2023, is expected to become the primary contributor to Apple's services revenue.

Additionally, analysts anticipate that iPhones will continue to generate half of Apple's revenue and remain the cornerstone of its ecosystem. The growth of iPhones in emerging markets is also expected to drive future growth for other Apple products, as new users entering the iOS ecosystem are likely to increase their spending on Apple's offerings.
