In the process of rebranding MSN News, Microsoft has launched a news app for Android and iOS called Microsoft News. The MSN brand will remain on the website, but Microsoft will not be using that brand for the Android and iOS news apps going forward.
Some of the features built into the Microsoft News app includes a dark mode, integration with Android and iOS widgets, continuous reading and news alerts. And the Microsoft News service will also be used for powering the news on Microsoft Edge, the News app in Windows 10, Skype, Xbox and Outlook.com.

"Microsoft News makes it easy for you to personalize your news experience, including prioritizing your favorite topics on MSN.com or selecting interests to follow in your news feed on the Microsoft Edge Start page and our apps on Windows 10, iOS and Android, so you can quickly get to the information you want most when and where you want it," said Microsoft News Editor in Chief Rob Bennett. "We also enable our many publishing partners to connect with new audiences and earn money for their content at a time when that is crucial to the survival of the industry – so they can continue to invest in high-quality, credible journalism."
Microsoft will be curating news from over 1,000 premium publishers and 3,000 brands using artificial intelligence and human editors. The artificial intelligence will scan over 100,000 articles, photos and videos every day and organize it based on topic and popularity.
