Mashable: Messi has reportedly been offered a tempting proposal after his dad’s Saudi trip

Lionel Messi has reportedly been offered a tempting transfer proposal by Saudi club Al Hilal.

Saudi Club Al-Hilal is reportedly intending to rope in Argentine legend Lionel Messi following his dad’s recent Saudi trip.

As per Mirror UK, Messi has received a transfer proposal from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal that would surpass Cristiano Ronaldo’s salary.

The amount that Al Hilal has offered the Argentina captain can make him the highest-paid player in the history of football.

This is Al Hilal’s response to their rival Saudi Club Al-Nassr who signed Cristiano Ronaldo in a free transfer in December 2022.

Lionel Messi is at the top of Al Hilal’s wishlist as he will be out of contract with Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The Portuguese player, Ronaldo completely stunned the world by making a move to the Riyadh-based club at the turn of 2023. The player was offered £ 173 million per year which is the highest salary any football player has received till now.

The 35-year-old joined Paris Saint Germain in the summer of 2021 on a two-year contract. Messi’s deal is up for renewal this year in June.

There is a chance that this summer, the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar winning champion may leave Paris Saint-Germain after the club paused contract talks.

The rivals, Ronaldo and Messi are two of the best players of football of all time. The two have faced each other several times in their career mostly during their time with Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Ronaldo and Messi also came face to face in a friendly match between PSG and All-Star Riyadh XI this year.

So, if everything goes well, Messi will be joining his long-term rival Ronaldo in the Middle East.
