Rocky star Sylvester Stallone is set to auction off 11 timepieces at Sotheby's on June 5th. Among them is an incredibly rare Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime watch, which was originally sold for approximately $2.5 million.

Calling all watch collectors! Sylvester Stallone's got some rare watches up for grabs at Sotheby’s. The actor's collection includes timepieces from Panerai, Audemars Piguet, and Piaget. https://t.co/wrsAVBI2tD — RobbReport (@RobbReport) May 6, 2024

This auction marks the first time that a Grandmaster Chime has been made available for commercial sale. In 2019, a steel model of the watch was sold for a staggering $31 million at the Only Watch charitable auction, setting a new record, reports Bloomberg.

Stallone's version of the timepiece is crafted in white gold and boasts an impressive 20 complications, making it the most intricate wristwatch ever created by Patek Philippe. It offers five different chiming modes, a perpetual calendar, and the ability to track two time zones.

The watch is so rare that it comes with an elaborate presentation box, including a collection book, plaque with Stallone's name, an original certificate, cuff links, and even an iPad in a Patek Philippe leather case. Remarkably, the watch itself remains unworn, still wrapped in its protective plastic.

Sotheby's has estimated Stallone's Grandmaster Chime to be worth between $2.5 million and $5 million, although it could potentially fetch an even higher price.

In addition to this extraordinary timepiece, the auction will also feature other highly sought-after Patek Philippes, as well as watches from renowned brands such as Audemars Piguet, Cartier, Rolex, and Piaget.

The collection is completed by a selection of Panerai watches, including the one Stallone wore in the film Expendables 2. All of these exceptional watches will be part of Sotheby's Important Watches sale in New York City.

Two sought-after Nautilus models are also available for purchase. The first one is a 2021 stainless steel reference 5711/13000A-001, featuring a green sunburst dial and diamonds on the bezel, and is expected to fetch between $200,000 and $400,000 due to its exceptional rarity. The second model is a steel blue-dial reference 5711/1A-001, estimated to be sold for $50,000 to $100,000. The discontinuation of the 5711 line has led to a significant increase in its value on the resale market.
