Mashable: Only individuals who own a Hayya Card are eligible for the visa.

The application submission process for visas for World Cup fans to enter Oman is now open, the Royal Oman Police announced on Thursday. Only individuals who own a Hayya Card are eligible for the visa.

The official statement from the authorities read, “The Royal Oman Police announces the opening of application submission for visas to World Cup fans to enter the Sultanate of Oman (holders of Hayya Card) within the efforts to celebrate the hosting of the World Cup in the region, support the State of Qatar’s endeavors to make it a success, and promote Muscat as a major city capable of receiving world cup fans and providing them with a convenient and exceptional experience.”

To encourage World Cup attendance, Oman is providing free multiple-entry visas. The e-visa website allows for two further 60-day extensions of the visa's validity.

The decision was made ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar, which is set to begin on November 20.

It may be mentioned that everyone attending a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 match must have a personal identification card called a Hayya Card.

In order to accommodate the massive number of visitors expected for the giant football tournament, Qatari authorities said on Wednesday that a PCR test will also no longer be required to enter the nation.

A new shuttle flight service was also launched by airlines across the region earlier this year. Therefore, many fans are preparing to go to see matches while staying outside of Qatar. As a popular hub on the way to the major football event, Dubai was named the top city for travel to Qatar during the global event.
