“Exelx” Among Top 50 Climate Tech Start-Ups Driving MENA Region Towards Net Zero

PwC Middle East has launched its first Net Zero Future50 report, revealing 50 pioneering start-ups in the Middle East driving innovation focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and addressing the impacts of global warming across key economic sectors in the region.

Exelx is focusing to solving environmental problems related to batteries. According to a Bloomberg report, the total battery waste expected to lose effectiveness by 2030 is over 12 million tons. Exelx works on battery reuse and recycling solutions to reduce adverse environmental effects and conserve energy. Recently, they have processed over 30,000 nickel-type cells. These cells were successfully reused in hybrid vehicles, covering distances up to 25,000 kilometres without any malfunction, reducing the carbon footprint by more than 350 tons of carbon emissions within a year.
